About: Thomas A. Brodersen, Esq.

TomBrodersen

A graduate of the University of Illinois and DePaul College of Law, Tom enjoyed a diverse background in public speaking, broadcast media, telecommunications, and law enforcement before beginning the practice of law in downtown Chicago in 1982.

As a Florida real estate broker, Tom operated a multi-office top national real estate brokerage franchise in Southwest Florida, taught real estate law and practice to hundreds of agents, and served as President of the Bonita Springs, Florida Board of Realtors ®

Tom was a certified trainer of real estate agents in salesmanship, taught real estate law and practice at the community college level, and wrote and presented several courses for continuing education credit in real estate brokerage, specifically, contract law and the law of agency.

Tom also worked in the mortgage industry, both as a Florida licensed mortgage broker, and in the wholesale department of a national mortgage lender.

As a Level I Member Agent of the Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund and Old Republic National Title Insurance, Tom supervises residential and commercial real estate closings and counsels buyers and sellers in transactions both simple and complex.

Real Estate and mortgage law has been a special interest of Tom’s for decades.  He has dug deep into the foundations of mortgage foreclosure defense, and spends a significant amount of his time counseling homeowners as to their rights during this difficult time.

Tom gives his clients the unvarnished truth about dealing in Florida real estate.  He can be most helpful if consulted early in the process, before you sign a listing, purchase contract or otherwise commit yourself, as decisions made in these very early stages can profoundly affect your rights throughout the process of buying and selling.  If you are struggling with your mortgage, do yourself a favor and consult a lawyer before you invade your savings or retirement funds, or live off your credit cards to keep paying the mortgage.
